PROVEN LEADERSHIP DELIVERING RESULTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY

Mark C. Scott was elected Berks County Commissioner in 1996.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and French from DePauw University in 1973, his Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School in 1979 and a Financial Planning Certification from Farleigh Dickinson University in 2005.

Prior to his election, he served Berks County as Executive Director of the Berks County Solid Waste Authority, Assistant County Solicitor, and Douglass Township Supervisor.  His private sector experience includes bank management and ownership of a trout hatchery/regional food distribution business.

Over his 6 terms in office, he has played a leading role in landfill litigation, farmland preservation, the investigation of political corruption and white collar crime and the improvement of the County’s financial strength.

Commissioner Scott resides on his family farm in Douglass Township.
